The Drayton Valley Thunder are pleased to announce 20 year old forward Anthony Orubor has committed to play for the Marian University Sabres starting in Fall 2017. Marian University is in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin and plays in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA).
Anthony was acquired by the Thunder in October 2016 through a trade with the Sherwood Park Crusaders. In Anthony's four year junior career, he recorded 30 goals and 68 points in 124 games.
The Marian Sabres will be getting a fast-versatile forward who can play in all situations and should be able to step right in and help solidify an already impressive group of forwards. “We are all excited for the opportunity Anthony is getting at Marian University,” stated Coach Dorrans. “When Anthony first arrived in Drayton Valley we had a conversation about his goals for the season and his number one priority was to try and secure an education opportunity while continuing to play hockey.”
