The Alberta Junior Hockey League champions fell short in their quest to qualify for the RBC Junior A National Championships May 12-20 in Chilliwack, B.C., by losing to the British Columbia Hockey League champion Wenatchee Wild in the Doyle Cup.
The final nail for the Saints came Friday with a 7-2 loss to Wenatchee at the Grant Fuhr Arena, which gave the visitors a 4-1 series victory and their first berth into the national championship tournament.
