Pontiacs, Crusaders, Dragons and Kodiaks Advance

Four teams have advanced to Round Two of the 2013 AJHL Gas Drive Playoffs after defeating their opening round opponents over the weekend.  However, one series in each Division will go the distance with a Game 5.

The Sherwood Park Crusaders defeated the Grande Prairie Storm (3-1) and will now face the Spruce Grove Saints, a team that received a first round bye in the North Division.  The Bonnyville Pontiacs also eliminated the Drayton Valley Thunder in Game Four and now await the winner of the series between the Fort McMurray Oil Barons and Whitecourt Wolverines.  The series is tied at two with Game 5 scheduled for Monday night in Whitecourt.

The Drumheller Dragons swept the Canmore Eagles in Round One, and the Camrose Kodiaks knocked out the Calgary Mustangs (3-1).  The Brooks Bandits earned a first round bye, but their opponent remains undecided.  The 2nd place Okotoks Oilers and 7th place Olds Grizzlys will play Game 5 on Tuesday in Okotoks, and the winner will determine the second round playoff matchups in the South Division.
