RBC Community Ambassador: Lukas Konashuk, Grande Prairie Storm

According to his coach, Lukas regularly attends community events, happily interacting with kids at schools, parades, and minor hockey. ?As a local Grande Prairie product, he exemplifies what it takes to play for the Grande Prairie Storm and wears an ?A? for us.”

Lukas says he really enjoys getting out in the community to help out with all kinds of initiatives and to see the smiles and the way the kids light up is awesome. He says, ?Being able to give an extra hand to people in need and to make their day is a great feeling. It is time that our whole team is willing to give up and help out.?

It is clear that Lukas is also incredibly thankful for his teammates as he explains. “We have a great group of guys this year and every one of them could have been recognized for their commitment to the community. It?s very important for us as a whole team to get out there and help out, as well as to bring people into our hockey games. It really goes to show on game days – our fans are amazing and they really support us, this goes along ways on the ice.?

?I just would like to thank RBC again for the opportunity to be a part of the AJHL community Ambassadors.?

Each AJHL team will nominate one player who has shown exemplary commitment to community service to be recognized as an AJHL RBC Community Ambassador – all 16 athletes will make up the 2019-20 AJHL RBC Community Ambassador Team!   At the conclusion of the regular season, one AJHL RBC Community Ambassador will be selected as the recipient of the RBC Community Award. A donation will be made to the Ambassador?s local charity from RBC and a Scholarship will be provided to the player from the AJHL to be used for post-secondary education.
