The Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) has expanded its 25-year partnership with RBC to provide further professional development for its athletes.
RBC will host a Community & Social Impact Series with each of the 15 AJHL teams throughout February and March 2021. The virtual series will include a “˜Your Brand Matters’ workshop and Financial Literacy session for the 400 athletes of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
RBC’s support of the Alberta Junior Hockey League extends back to 1995. This year, due to the global pandemic, RBC has shifted the partnership.
“We’ve enjoyed our longstanding collaboration with AJHL,” said Jeff Boyd, Regional President, Alberta & Territories, RBC. “While our support looks a little different this year, we’re pleased to be able to provide athletes with some virtual learning and development opportunities to help prepare them for jobs of tomorrow.”
“This opportunity is another way our players will learn and grow outside of the game during their time in the Alberta Junior Hockey League,” said AJHL Commissioner Ryan Bartoshyk. “Our partnership with RBC continues to provide supplementary advantages to our teams and communities and positively impact our athletes.”
RBC Future Launch is a 10-year $500 million commitment to help Canadian youth prepare for the jobs of tomorrow. The program goes beyond financial investment by engaging the public and private sectors to further understand the issues and make a significant impact on the lives of young Canadians. The program focuses on solutions for three key areas where they may require support – relevant experience, relevant skills, and professional networks and mentoring.
