Reid Irwin Commits to Denver University

The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce Reid Irwin (1999) has committed to the University of Denver (NCAA) for the 2020/2021 season.

“We're incredibly happy for Reid,” stated Crusaders general manager Kyle Chase. “We couldn't be more proud – we feel like both ourselves, and now Denver hit gold with Reid and (defensive partner) Michael Benning playing together on the back-end, and we couldn't be more excited to have a quality individual like him committing to a quality school.”

Inwin, 20, was acquired along with forward Zach Kaiser at the January 10th AJHL trade deadline. Since being acquired by the Crusaders, Irwin has averaged over a point-per-game in scoring 22 points in 21 games. In his time in Sherwood Park, the 6'1 defenceman has eclipsed his highest full-season points total and provided a reliable option in all situations for the Crusaders defensive core.

Irwin joins Crusaders forward Carter Savoie (2002) and defensive partner Michael Benning (2002) in committing to Denver University.

The Crusaders wish Reid and his family all the best in the commitment.
