University of Vermont sophomore forward Kyle Reynolds has been named the Athletic Republic Hockey East Player of the Week, while freshman goaltender Brody Hoffman earned Pro Ambitions Co-Rookie of the Week honors. The league announced its weekly award winners on Monday.
Reynolds received the award following a three-point outing on Saturday night in a 5-2 win against St. Lawrence at Appleton Arena. He posted two assists and netted his first goal of the season, which was the first of three Vermont tallies in the second period. The forward is tied for fourth on the team in scoring this year with five points in 13 games.
Hoffman received rookie honors for the second time this season, as he made a career-high 39 saves in the victory over the Saints. He stopped at least 10 shots in each period, including 15 in the first, to grab his fourth collegiate win. The rookie has made at least 30 saves in five of his last six starts and leads Hockey East in total stops with 419.
