The Drumheller Dragons are excited to announce that 19-year-old forward Brady Risk has committed to the University of Alaska Fairbanks for the 2020-2021 season. The Nanooks play in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and finished with a Conference record of 12 wins, 14 losses, and 2 ties.
Risk recently completed his third season with the Drumheller Dragons. The 5?9 forward from Medicine Hat has played in 176 games, scored 43 goals, and added 58 assists for a total of 101 points. Risk was recognized as the Top Playoff performer of the Dragons during the 2019 playoffs contributing 3 points in 5 games played including a double overtime goal. Risk continually played his best hockey during the post season with overall totals of 12 points in 17 games played.
?Brady is a highly explosive player that plays in all situations,? says Coach Kevin Hasselberg. ?Brady is a player that values preparation and will spend countless hours perfecting his skills. He draws people to him with his contagious enthusiasm and passion for the game. We are very fortunate to have Brady play out his final year of junior eligibility as a Dragon and look forward to even more of his inspirational play next season.?
The Drumheller Dragons would like to thank the Alaska Coaching Staff of Joe Howe, Karlis Zirnis and Head Coach Eric Largen for all their recruiting efforts and invested time following Brady. Brady and all the Dragons returning players, along with recruits, will be participating in the Annual Summer Combine in Cochrane, AB on May 31st to June 2nd at the Spray Lakes Recreation Center.
