Rubin Commits to York

The Drayton Valley Thunder is very pleased to announce the commitment of forward Benji Rubin to York University. Benji will be joining the Lions for the upcoming 2010-2011 season.
Benji came to the Thunder organization at the start of the 2009-2010 season where he put up an impressive 57 points in 58 games along with 78 penalty minutes for the Thunder. The 21 year old is a native of Montreal, Quebec.
“Benji was a huge acquisition for us before the start of the 09-10 season. Benji played a lot of minutes for our club over the last year and I look for Benji to do big things at York this fall. The Drayton Valley Thunder would like to congratulate Benji and his family on this opportunity” stated Thunder General Manager and head Coach Fran Gow.
Rubin is the fourth Thunder player off the 2009-2010 Thunder roster to commit to an NCAA, CIS or ACAC program.
