The Spruce Grove Saints are proud to announce that Tyler Busch has committed to play for the Arizona State University Sun Devils.   A NCAA Independent Division I program, Arizona State is located in Tempe, Arizona. The Sun Devils will play their 1st season as a Division I program next season.

In his 3rd full season as a Saint, and as the Saints captain, Tyler has become a leader both on and office the ice, amassing 39 goals 50 assists for 89 points in 122 games and winning two AJHL Gas Drive Championships.  Tyler has also played for Team West the past two seasons at the World Junior “A” Challenge, this season capturing the Gold medal while being an assistant captain on the team.

“Tyler came to us three short years ago, a young man looking to get better, and after three years in our program has really turned into one of the elite power forwards in our league,” stated Head Coach Jason McKee.  “Moving forward I know Tyler will be a big part of the foundation that ASU is starting with their Division I program.  With Tyler being the captain of our team, who has been a huge part of our (Saints) culture, I know he will take some of those things forward with him.  We look forward to further developing Tyler towards his departure to ASU.”

“I am very excited to be attending Arizona State University next season and looking forward to being part of a new program that is hungry to win,” says Busch.  “I want to thank my family, friends and advisors for all of their support throughout this process. As well I’d like to thank Coach McKee and Coach Ringrose and the Saints organization for their help in developing my game.”

The Saints organization would like to congratulate Tyler and his family on this step in his career and wish him continued success moving forward.
