The Spruce Grove Saints and Bonnyville Pontiacs will square off in a best-of-three finale to settle the North Final after the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s two hottest teams split the first four games of the series.
“It has gone back and forth, been a tough physical series and the next game will be the most important,” said Saints captain Parker Mackay. “Games 1 and 3 we came out flying, Games 2 and 4 we simply weren’t ready to play. We were too casual after the wins and that can’t happen. We have to be better dealing with success.”
Game 5 goes Friday night at Grant Fuhr Arena and the victor will have a chance to wrap up the series on Sunday night in Bonnyville. Head coach Jason McKee believes that can be Spruce Grove if they get off to a quick start.
