Spruce Grove, AB – Spruce Grove Saints Governor, Darren Myshak, announced today the promotion of Saints Associate Coach Michael Ringrose as the club’s new Head Coach and General Manager.
Ringrose, 32, becomes the 3rd HC/GM since the Saints return to Spruce Grove. Ringrose has spent the last four seasons as the Saints Associate Coach. Prior to that Coach Ringrose was the Assistant Coach of the Saints for two seasons.
“It's been the Saints philosophy to hire within our coaching staff. We feel this rewards dedication and provides the consistency to continually grow our organization. We are very pleased that Mike has decided to take the next step in his coaching career with the Saints,” said Darren Myshak. “We have full confidence that Mike will grow the program from the foundation Jason McKee has left us. The Saints would like to thank all the coaches that sent in their resumes. We appreciate the interest.”
“It's been a privilege to work with the Saints organization for the past six years, and a real honour to move forward in this new role,” mentions Mike Ringrose “I'm excited to get going with preparations for next season.”
Prior to coaching in Spruce Grove, Mike was a standout in the AJHL playing for both the Sherwood Park Crusaders and Drayton Valley Thunder. In three seasons he tallied 83 goals, 127 assists for 210 points and 135 PIMs.
The Saints organization would like to congratulate Coach Ringrose on this next step in his coaching career as we look forward to the 2016-17 season.
