The Sherwood Park Crusaders will once again be looking towards the next Alberta Junior Hockey League season after losing to the Spruce Grove Saints for the fourth year in a row, this time by a 4-0 sweep.
The Saints finished off the series with a 3-0 win Wednesday at Sherwood Park Arena, in a game was a complete change of pace from Monday’s contest.
“The first three games were overly emotional, it’s an intense rivalry between the two teams and I think both teams were happy it was hockey today,” said Spruce Grove assistant coach Sean Biessel.
Biessel was in charge of the Saints bench after head coach Jason Mckee, as well as Crusader’s head coach Tim Fragle, both landed one-game suspensions following a 251-penalty-minute game three.
