Saints Win Game Six to Force Game Seven

The Saints down 3-2 in the North Division Final series grit their teeth and slug it out to force a 7th and deciding game back in Spruce Grove.

The Barons jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals from Brock Maschmeyer and Mitchell Board. Saints Player of the Game, David Glen, answered back putting a puck up and over Baron’s goaltender Brody Hoffman from in close. Saints forward Nolan Huysmans tied the game less than a minute later pushing a puck past Hoffman in a scrum. Cooper regained the lead for the Barons halfway through the game on a nice feed from John Dunbar on a 2 on 1. Glen added to his post season point total by beating a defender and Hoffman with a wrist shot top corner.

At the 6:21 mark of the third period Charles Wells gained the Baron’s blue line and hammered a shot on net, the rebound got snapped up by Dylan Hollman and snapped past the Baron’s goaltender for the game winning goal.

Joel Miller made 30 saves to get his 6th win of the post season and bring the series back home to Spruce Grove Tuesday night at 7pm.
