The Bonnyville Pontiacs announced today that Shell Canada will become the exclusive supporter of the Bonnyville Pontiacs Lakeland School Program with an investment of $10,000. The two components of this initiative are the anti-bullying program: “Respect: It’s the Name of the Game” and the “Drug Awareness Presentation” both delivered by Pontiacs Players.
Over the past two seasons (2008-2010) Bonnyville Pontiac players have presented the Respect and Drug Awareness messages to over 3,300 students in the Lakeland Region. The investment from Shell Canada will aid in the administration and delivery of the program to increase the number of students being reached within the region.
“Shell is pleased to support a program which has such a broad reach and positive message, says Kathleen Zellweger, Community Affairs Coordinator at Shell’s Orion Complex.
Shell has been operating in Canada since 1911 and employs approximately 8,000 people across the country. A leading manufacturer, distributor and marketer of refined petroleum products, Shell produces natural gas, natural gas liquids and bitumen, and is Canada’s largest producer of sulphur.
