Stephen KLIEN has committed to join the Middlebury College Panthers

Bonnyville PONTIACS goaltender Stephen KLIEN has committed to join the Middlebury College Panthers for the 2014/15 season. Middlebury College is located in the Champlain Valley of central Vermont and competes in the New England Small College Athletic Conference. The Panthers lead the NESCAC in total number of National Championships, having won 33 individual titles since the conference lifted its ban on NCAA play in 1994 and eight-time NCAA Champions ('95-'99, '04-'06).

Stephen has played 80 games and 4,393 minutes for the PONTIACS between 2012 and 2014. Head Coach and General Manager Rick SWAN says, “Technically Stephen is outstanding and at 6’ 2” he has the size and structure to be extremely effective at the College level. He has the ability to win games and he is a high character kid who is focused and committed to coming to the rink every day to be better. Academically very few people have the ability to qualify for Middlebury and I am extremely happy on his commitment to one of the top academic schools in North America where Stephen can continue to play at a high level while getting a first class education.”

The Bonnyville PONTIACS organization, our community and our fans wish Stephen KLEIN all the very best in both his academic and hockey endeavors and congratulate him on his commitment to Middlebury College which is a testament to his work in the classroom as well as on the ice.

Stephen KLEIN becomes the seventh Bonnyville PONTIAC player committed to College this season joining Redford SWAN – NAIT/ACAC., Locke MULLER – NAIT/ACAC., T.J. CUNNINGHAM – SAIT/ACAC., Dan WEDMAN – Cornell/ECAC Division 1, Spencer FOO – Union/ECAC Division 1 and Sean MOSTROM – Denver/NCHA Division 1.
