Stonnell Commits to Robert Morris University

The Drumheller Dragons are very excited to announce that 20-year-old defenceman Bradley Stonnell has committed to Robert Morris University for the 2019-2020 season. The Colonials play in the Atlantic Conference in the NCAA Division I level.

Stonnell is playing his third and final season with the Drumheller Dragons. The 5’11 skilled right shot defenseman is a graduate of the Valley West Hawks Major Midget program in British Columbia.  Stonnell (Surrey, BC) has played in a total of 109 games with the Dragons scoring 25 goals and totaling 78 points. Stonnell was drafted into the USHL by the Cedar Rapid Roughriders and played 16 games during the 2017-18 season before returning to the Dragons.

“This commitment by Stonnell did not come easily,” states Coach Kevin Hasselberg. “Bradley has been resilient throughout his three year junior career, experiencing every type of adversity that could be thrown his way. Staying positive, remaining humble, and never giving up are qualities that have earned Stoney this opportunity and as an organization, we couldn’t be happier.”

The Drumheller Dragons would like to thank AJHL graduate and current Assistant Coach of the Colonials Kody Van Rentergem and Head Coach Derek Schooley for all their recruiting efforts. We also wish to extend a congratulations out to Bradley, Scott, Dana and the Stonnell family with this accomplishment and wish Bradley continued success in College Hockey with the Colonials.
