The Bobcats recently announced that Kyle Tapp will step into the assistant coaching role but he also gets the new moniker of assistant GM attached to his orange and black business card.
Tapp said the decision to stay was an easy choice considering the reputation new coach and GM Garry VanHereweghe has in the AJHL and what he can learn off the new man in charge of resurrecting this franchise.
“I’m excited,” he said . “I didn’t want to move.”
I had opportunities elsewhere but ultimately I didn’t want to move,” he said. “I think the big thing was the opportunity to develop (and) to be honest that is the main reason (I decided to stay).”
