Thomas Davis Commits to MacEwan University

Located in Edmonton, AB, the Griffins have enjoyed a lot of success in recent years as they have won the ACAC Championship the last three consecutive seasons. Their Head Coach is Mike Ringrose who was the Head Coach of the Spruce Grove Saints during the 2016-17 season.

Davis (St.Albert, AB) who joined the Eagles in October 2016 was a big part of the organization both on and off the ice during the three seasons he spent with the team. He appeared in 90 regular season games and his career totals were 39 wins, 39 losses and 6 overtime/shootout losses with a Goals Against Average of 3.66 and a Save Percentage of .895. In playoffs, Davis had a Save Percentage of .918, a GAA of 3.19, and faced over 400 shots in 10 games.

?I?m really happy for Tommy, it?s a big accomplishment for him,? said Eagles Head Coach and General Manager Andrew Milne. ?Tommy has a great personality, he was very well liked by his teammates and he was also a great ambassador and role model for the community. His family was very supportive and went to almost every game. This past season, Tommy certainly showed a lot of perseverance. He did not have his best regular season, but he was outstanding down the final stretch and in the playoffs.?

Davis was one of the main reasons the Eagles were able to upset the favoured Drumheller Dragons in the opening round in five games, with four games going to overtime. In the 2nd round against the high flying Brooks Bandits and their amazing regular season record of 57-3, Davis helped his team end the Bandits? historic winning streak with a 3-2 overtime win in Game 3 in Canmore where he made 58 saves.

?I?m really excited,? said Thomas Davis. ?At the end of the season, I wasn?t sure where I would end up going. I had a few options from a few different programs, but MacEwan University approached me and they made a good offer and it was the best fit for me. They have a successful program and a good coach.?

Davis really enjoyed the three years he spent in the Bow Valley and he has nothing but good memories saying, ?I really like everything, the people, the town. Canmore is one of the best places to play in the world. I will really miss the fans, the boys and the staff. My best memory is our playoffs this past season.?

Davis is the 4th Eagles player from the 2018-19 roster to commit to a College / University program.

The Canmore Eagles organization would like to thank Thomas and his family for all their contributions to the team in the last three seasons and we wish Tommy the best of luck at MacEwan University and beyond!
