Three AJHL Players Listed in NHL Central Scouting Midterm Rankings

NHL Central Scouting's midterm ranking of the top prospects for the 2018 NHL Draft includes three AJHL skaters – defencemen Jacob Bernard-Docker (Okotoks Oilers) and Sean Comrie (Spruce Grove Saints), and forward Austin Wong (Okotoks Oilers).

Bernard-Docker is ranked 62nd overall among North American Skaters, which projects him as a second round selection.  Comrie received a fourth round ranking at #105 overall, with Wong listed at #214 as a seventh round pick.

A total of 86 players have been selected in the NHL Entry Draft directly from the Alberta Junior Hockey League and 20 AJHL Alumni have went on to win the coveted Stanley Cup. Brooks Bandits defenceman Cale Makar made history as the highest drafted AJHL Player when the Colorado Avalanche selected him 4th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.  Joe Colborne of the Camrose Kodiaks previously held the record when the Boston Bruins selected him 16th overall in 2008.

20 players from Canadian Junior Hockey League teams earned places on the list released Monday; 17 skaters along with three goaltenders.  Of the 20 listed, 19 were selected to compete in the CJHL Prospects Game, which goes Tuesday at 7:30pm (ET) in Mississauga, ON.  The CJHL Prospects Game will be streamed online at HockeyTV.com.
