The Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League are proud to announce that Trevor Poirier has committed to Hobart College for the 2015-16 NCAA season.
Trevor played 186 games over his three years as a member of the Drayton Valley Thunder where he tallied 59 goals and 54 assists for a total of 113 points. Trevor was a North Division All Rookie in 2013 as well as one of the Thunder captains over his career and was a very popular teammate.
The Hobart Statesmen play in the Division III ECAC West where they just captured their third ECAC West Tournament Title going 21-7 and advancing to the NCAA Division III National Championship field.
“Trevor had a tremendous career with our team, and we are very proud of his development over the last three years. My first experience with Trevor dates back to him being 14 years old at the Alberta Cup and to see him grow into the man he is today is incredible”, said Head Coach/GM Mike Mueller.” Trevor is blessed with great speed, loves to compete, and his game has evolved to him being an excellent two way player which will enable him to make an impact with the Hobart Statesmen. He was a tremendous person in our community and leaves a lasting impression with the current Thunder players moving forward. He comes from a great family who are very supportive and we are very happy for the entire Poirier family, they all will be missed around the Drayton Valley arena.”
The Drayton Valley Thunder would like to wish Trevor the best of luck with the Hobart Statesmen and know that he will bring a positive impact as a student/athlete in the next phase of his life. We look forward to seeing your continued success.
