Three Alberta Junior Hockey League players have been identified on the NHL Central Scouting Players to watch List for the 2018 NHL Entry Draft in Dallas, TX.
Congratulations to Sean Comrie (Spruce Grove Saints), Daniel Hilsendager (Lloydminster Bobcats) and Jacob Bernard-Docker (Okotoks Oilers), who were all listed with a C rating.
Players have been identified using the following criteria:
A Rating: 1st round candidate
B Rating: 2nd/3rd round candidate
C Rating: 4th/5th/6th round candidate
15 current Canadian Junior Hockey League players earned a place in the listing.
A total of 86 players have been selected in the NHL Entry Draft directly from the Alberta Junior Hockey League and 20 AJHL Alumni have went on to win the coveted Stanley Cup. Brooks Bandits defenceman Cale Makar made history as the highest drafted AJHL Player when the Colorado Avalanche selected him 4th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Joe Colborne of the Camrose Kodiaks previously held the record when the Boston Bruins selected him 16th overall in 2008.
The 2018 NHL Entry Draft will be the 56th NHL Entry Draft. The draft will be held from June 22–23, 2018, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
