Ty Carey Commits to NAIT OOKS

The Bonnyville PONTIACS are pleased to announce that forward Ty CAREY has committed to attend and play for the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (N.A.I.T.) in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference for the 2013/14 season.

Ty CAREY played 141 games over the last three years with the Bonnyville PONTIACS scoring 47 goals and 40 assists while serving as the team’s assistant captain in 2011/12 and 20112/13. Ty was the Bonnyville PONTIACS Rookie of the Year in 2010/11 and he was given the “3 Star Award” in 2011/12. In 2011 Ty was selected to the Canada West Junior A try-outs.

His size, his compete level and his character are things that the PONTIACS counted on from Ty day in and day out. “A great leader on and off the ice, Ty represented the PONTIAC organization with the upmost class and professionalism during his three years in a Bonnyville uniform. He always played the game with a great deal of passion and intensity and was a positive influence to our younger players” said Head Coach and General Manager Rick SWAN.

“Ty will be a great addition to Coach Serge LAJOIE’s N.A.I.T. Ooks as they look to defend their A.C.A.C. Championship from last season” said Head Coach and General Manager Rick SWAN. “He will make their program better and I look forward to watching him progress as a top player in the A.C.A.C.” Ty will be joining former PONTIAC team mates Kevin CARTHY, Dante BORRELLI, Jordan KRANKOWSKI, Michael WESTFALL, Brennen VOLCAN who are currently playing for the Ooks.
