UHWK and AJHL to Host POV Hockey Game

Kitchener, ON — UHWK (www.uhwk.com) a sports technology start-up company, announced today the use of their wearable video camera, the UHWK Show, in a hockey game with the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Conceived and created by teammates, Shea Kewin and Tim Priamo, the camera is a curved and low profile wearable video camera designed by athletes for athletes.

The game between Fort McMurray Oil Barons and Grande Prairie Storm will take place Saturday, March 5 at 8:00pm at the Casman Centre and will feature players wearing the UHWK Show camera, capturing in-game footage from their own unique point of view.

Fort McMurray native and AJHL alumni, Bobby Stewart, joins creators Shea and Tim as Owner, and will be present at Saturday’s game. 1993 AJHL Rookie of the Year, Bobby has helped UHWK to grow globally.

“We are thrilled to host a POV hockey game in my hometown,” said Bobby Stewart, Owner, UHWK. “The AJHL is a pillar of hockey in Western Canada with a loyal fanbase, to whom we are excited to bring in game footage from these elite players’ unique point of view.”

The UHWK Show uses first person point of view video to improve situational analysis and spatial awareness, embodying the essence of an athlete, and making for the ultimate training companion. Developed on the ice, but applicable to all other sports and recreational activities, the wearable video camera is for everyone from the professional to the little leaguer.  Whether used in game, during training, or for leisure, the UHWK Show captures the magic of a moment and allows users to easily share these vivid and unique experiences with others by uploading via SD card or USB cable.

UHWK is now shipping all Kickstarter orders and the UHWK Show can be purchased online at www.uhwk.com

About UHWK (you-hawk)
Born in the rinks of Fredericton, New Brunswick and now based in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, UHWK is a sportswear technology company that is breaking new ground in the way that athletes train and assess their performance through video. The company was launched by Shea Kewin and Tim Priamo; former hockey teammates with combined playing experience that includes more than 450 OHL games, 200 CIS games and a stint in the minor professional ranks. Named after the hawk, the brand aims to provide consumers with a tool to enhance both precision and vision, while exuding a sense of spirit and freedom.  Its debut camera, The UHWK Show, allows athletes to re-evaluate their in-game decision making and become smarter, training the way fighter jet pilots have been for decades using flight simulators. UHWK is currently working on expanding their portfolio to include new and advanced cameras, applications, and sportswear. www.uhwk.com #LeadTheGame
