Viterra AJHL Volunteer Profile: Colin Christenson, Camrose Kodiaks

The Alberta Junior Hockey League and Viterra are proud to recognize one volunteer from each member team through the Viterra AJHL Volunteer Profile throughout the 2014-2015 season.   At the end of the regular season, one volunteer in both the Viterra AJHL North Division & Viterra AJHL South Division will be presented with the Viterra Salute to Service Award recognizing their service and commitment to the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

  • Name: Colin Christenson
  • AJHL Team: Camrose Kodiaks

  • Role: Statistician – But he does  everything from laundry to game day help to loading and unloading the bus, fixing jerseys, everything!. Colin has come to every league meeting for scheduling from day one.
  • Number of Years Volunteering: The first day the team began operating (1996) and he has not missed a day since. He comes to the rink daily to help out and has been on every road trip with us.

 

  • Why He Volunteers: Because he loves to and he loves his community and the Kodiaks that are part of the community.
  • Occupation: Retired from Camrose Pipe
  • Favorite AJHL Memory: I have to guess at the next two questions because he does not know I am putting in his name:  He volunteers because he loves hockey and helping. He is very humble and I know he would not do this or answer these questions, so I am because he is very deserving of being recognized for his outstanding work over the past 18 years! So his favorite memory was winning our first Championship.
  • Favorite AJHL Player: He would say 'too many great players that I have seen to choose one! Great League, Great hockey, but if one must be chosen, Mason Raymond'
