  • Name: Luc Turcotte
  • AJHL Team: Canmore Eagles
  • Role: Member of the board of directors, run the team's social media, helping out with all the team's events and fundraisers like Christmas tree sales, casinos, Canada Day Parades, etc.
  • Number of Years Volunteering: 10

Why I Volunteer: Because I love Hockey and being involved with the local team is a great way to meet many good people and to keep yourself busy during the Fall and Winter months. It really makes you feel that you are a big part of the community.

Occupation: Security Guard

Favorite AJHL Memory: When Sam Brittain was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the 2010 NHL Entry Entry Draft, in which he became the 1st Canmore Eagle player to get drafted straight from the AJHL. Also the 2013-14 season, which is so far the Eagles' best season of my time with the team. That season featured Eagle all-star defenceman Trey Phillips winning the AJHL's Top Defenceman & MVP awards and also the CJHL's Top Defenceman.

Favorite AJHL Player: There are many Eagle players to choose from, especially from this season, because we certainly have a fun team to watch, but if I can pick one player from the current team and one alumni, I have to go with Matt Forchuk and Sam Brittain.
