With the crowning of champions in all 4 western Junior A leagues complete, the schedule for the Brooks Bandits at the upcoming Western Canada Cup in Estevan, Saskatchewan has been confirmed.
The Bandits will have an off day on the first day of tournament competition, Saturday, April 30th. They will open their schedule the following afternoon, Sunday May 1st at 2:00 PM, as the nominal road team against the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) champion West Kelowna Warriors.
The next night, Monday, May 2nd, the Bandits will have the last change when they take on the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) champion Melfort Mustangs at 7:00 PM.
The Bandits will then have an off day on Tuesday, May 3rd, before resuming play on Wednesday, May 4th with another evening game, this time as the nominal road team, against the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) champion and defending RBC Cup champion Portage Terriers at 7:00 PM.
Finally, the Bandits will be the home team on Thursday, May 5th for their last preliminary round game against the host team, the SJHL’s Estevan Bruins, at 7:00 PM.
The remainder of the Bandits’ schedule will depend on their standing among the five teams after the initial games are completed. On Saturday, May 7th, the 3rd-place and 4th-place team will play at 2:00 PM for a chance at the final play-in game, while the 1st-place and 2nd-place teams will play at 7:00 PM for the Western Canada Cup and a berth in the 2016 RBC Cup.
On Sunday, May 8th, the loser of the championship game will play the winner of the 3-versus-4 game for the final remaining RBC Cup berth at 4:00 PM.
