The Bonnyville Pontiacs are pleased to announce that 20-year-old graduate defenseman, Michael Westfall (Sherwood Park, AB) has committed to attend the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology commencing the fall 2011.
Standing 6’3″ and weighing 200 lbs, Michael Westfall is sure to provide a strong physical presence on the NAIT blue line. “I was thoroughly impressed with Michael’s compete level in the defensive zone. He is a smart player who prides himself in making simple plays and is very tough to play against. He will be a player we will rely on heavily to play against the other team’s top lines this season,” stated NAIT Head Coach, Serge Lajoie. The 2010-2011 captain of the Pontiacs appeared in 168 games with the Pontiacs over 3 seasons. He has enrolled in the Business Program.
The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology Ooks play in the Alberta College Athletic Conference. Michael becomes the sixth Pontiac from the 2010-2011 team to commit to a post-secondary institution in order to combine academics and athletics.
