White Commits To Western Michigan University

Sherwood Park, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders are pleased to announce that Crusaders forward Jarred White (1999) has committed to the Western Michigan University Broncos for the 2020-21 season.

Western Michigan University, located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is an NCAA Division I program that plays in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference. The Broncos are coached by Andy Murray who has been with the university since the 2011-12 season. Last season, they finished with an 18-13-5 record and placed fourth in their conference.

White played one season with the Crusaders after being acquired from the Fort McMurray Oil Barons this past off-season. In his first season with the Crusaders, the Edmonton native scored 65 points (29 goals, 36 assists) in 55 games.

Before joining the Crusaders, he spent three seasons with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons, playing in 132 games scoring 58 points (25 goals, 33 assists).  He finished his AJHL career with 54 goals and 124 points in 189 games played.

White is the eleventh Crusader from the 2020 team to earn a post-secondary commitment, joining Arjun Atwal (University of Calgary), Jacob Kendall (Red Deer College), Carter Gylander (Colgate University), Ty Mueller (University of Nebraska-Omaha), Jacob Franczak (Long Island University), Will Zapernick (University of Vermont), Max Wutzke (Hamilton College), Reid Irwin, Carter Savoie, and Michael Benning (University of Denver).

The Crusaders organization would like to congratulate Jarred, and his parents Trina and Cam and wish them all the best at Western Michigan.
