Will No NHL = More Fans for Cru

This is normally the time of year that sports fanatics everywhere are waiting to see what their fantasy rosters can pull together.

Not this year.

With the NHL in its third lockout since 1990, however, the local Sherwood Park Junior A Crusaders are hoping for the trickle-down effect.

“It’s kind of an unknown right now,” Crusader head coach and general manager Tim Fragle said.

“We had a heck of a crowd last night, but the NHL wouldn’t have started yet anyway. We hope we can get a few people out and get their hockey fix, and that we’re the benefactors of it. That’s what we’re hoping on our side, I guess.”
