Brooks Bandits forward William Lemay is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Player of the Month for November 2018. Lemay led all AJHL skaters in scoring with 17 points in 11 games through November and sits fourth overall in the AJHL Scoring Race with 37 points.
Lemay both started and finished the month of November as the Viterra Star of the Game, picking up the award on November 2nd in a victory versus Canmore and on November 30th in a win over the Calgary Mustangs. Lemay scored his first AJHL hat trick in the November 2nd victory and recorded his fourth 3-point game of the season on November 30th to earn the honours.
Throughout the month, Lemay recorded points in eight of eleven games for the Bandits and had seven multi-point games. His monthly totals tallied at 9 goals and 8 assists. Lemay leads the Bandits in points and is scoring at an average of 1.3 points per game.
The 1998-born forward has committed to attend and play for the University of Vermont, beginning in the 2019-2020 NCAA season. The Vermont Catamounts play in the Division I Hockey East conference.
The 6’0”, 190lb forward was recruited to the Bandits after leading the Saint-Hyacinthe Lauréats of the Quebec College Hockey League in scoring. He then suited up for Collège-Français de Longueuil in the Quebec Junior Hockey League (QJHL) in the playoffs, ranking second in the league in post-season scoring and winning a league championship, before leading all players in scoring at the Fred Page Cup regional championship tournament.
The Alberta Junior Hockey League is pleased to partner with the Alberta Ford Dealers Association and will recognize the AJHL Player of the Month throughout the regular season. The AJHL and Ford also partner on the Alberta Ford Dealers Defensive Player of the Week.
