Lloydminster Bobcats forward Kaiden Wiltsie is the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week with seven points (4G, 3A) in three wins from October 14th-20th, 2024.
Kaiden Wiltsie (Calgary, AB) scored the game winning goal and added another in a 5-2 win over the Camrose Kodiaks on October 16th. Wiltsie and the Bobcats recorded their first franchise win over the Devon Xtreme on October 18th with a 5-3 final. The Bobcats forward scored a goal and three assists in the victory and was selected as the Viterra AJHL Player of the Game. Wiltsie opened the scoring for the Bobcats on October 19th as the team went on to defeat the Bonnyville Pontiacs 6-2.
Kaiden leads the team in scoring with 12 points (5G, 7A) and sits in the Top 15 of AJHL Scoring Leaders. Wiltsie (2004) joined the Bobcats from the Whitecourt Wolverines in September 2024 and is in his third full AJHL season.
The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week is Adam Leitch of the Calgary Canucks. The 2004-born defenceman recorded five points in two games for the Canucks.
Adam Leitch (Maple Ridge, BC) was awarded as the Viterra AJHL Player of the Game on October 19th with three assists in a 6-2 win over the visiting Drayton Valley Thunder. The following day, Leitch recorded his seventh and eighth assist of the season with a two-point game in an 8-5 loss to the Camrose Kodiaks. Leitch led all defencemen in points over the week.
The Calgary Canucks are tied for second place in the Viterra AJHL South Division with a record of 7-4-1-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL).
Camrose Kodiaks forward Ian Alonso is the Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week. With seven points (3G, 4A) in three games, Alonso led all AJHL rookies in scoring and extended his active point streak to four games.
Ian Alonso (2005) added an assist on both Camrose goals in a 5-2 loss to the Lloydminster Bobcats in the October 16th Hockey Hooky Game. Ian scored two goals, including the 4-3 OT winner, and added an assist on October 19th versus the Grande Prairie Storm. He was named as the Viterra AJHL Player of the Game for his three-point performance. Alonso closed the week with another multi-point game, scoring a goal and an assist to defeat the Calgary Canuks in an 8-5 road win.
Alonso (Huntington Beach, CA) is third overall in the AJHL for points (17), second in assists (11) and leads the Kodiaks.
