Whitecourt Wolverines alum Mathieu Gagnon has signed a professional contract with the American Hockey League’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Bridgeport is the primary affiliate of the National Hockey League’s New York Islanders.
During his time in Whitecourt in 2012-13, Gagnon posted numbers of 3 goals and 16 assists for 19 points and 259 penalty minutes in 35 games. Gagnon finished his junior career with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Shawinigan Cataractes before gaining a professional contact with the ECHL’s Fort Wayne Komets to finish the 2012-13 season.
