The Calgary Canucks are pleased to announce that 1998?born defenceman and assistant captain Adamu Tanaka has committed to Simon Fraser University for the 2019-2020 season.

?We would like to wish Adamu all the best as he enters the next phase of his life at Simon Fraser University. Adamu was a key figure on our blue line last season leading our young defensive core. His ability to play a skilled, fearless game was not lost on his teammates as he left everything he had on the ice every night,? said Coach Moran about Adamu Tanaka?s contributions to the Canucks this past season.

The Canucks acquired Adamu Tanaka from the Canmore Eagles prior to the start of the 2018-2019 season. During his time with the Canucks, Tanaka scored 3 goals and racked up 20 assists for a total of 23 points in 40 games.

The Calgary Canucks organization would like to congratulate Adamu and his family on this accomplishment and wish him all the best on and off the ice next season.
