The Alberta Junior Hockey League has announced its officiating team for the 2026-27 season, consisting of 113 Hockey Alberta officials: 50 referees, 54 linespeople, and nine dual-role officials who are designated to work as either a referee or linesperson.
The 2026-27 team combines a strong level of experience with the addition of 11 officials entering their first AJHL season, including Grace Barlow from the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL). Among the veterans are 32 officials who are also on the officiating roster of the Western Hockey League (WHL) and six American Hockey League (AHL) officials.
Five AJHL officials were selected to attend the 2026 NHL Exposure Combine in August and will continue their career path in the AJHL this season including Dawson Ashcroft, Megan French, Jacob Hicks, Josh Meier and Ben Solomon. 13 returning officials have been selected to work the National Junior A Championship throughout their careers including the most recent tournament in 2026.
The AJHL looks forward to the continued development of its returning and first-year officials throughout the 2026-27 season.
