2026-2027 Season
- August 21, 2026: AJHL Training Camps may open
- August 30 – September 13, 2026: AJHL Exhibition Season
- September 18, 2026: AJHL Regular Season opens
- September 30, 2026: Any player who participates in a non-sanctioned hockey league after September 30th shall only be eligible to register with or affiliate to a CJHL team through the Hockey Canada reinstatement process.
- October 2026: Minor Aged Player Release – Members may not release minor hockey aged players after the team has played 12 AJHL Regular Season games within the current season, unless there is unanimous consent of player, parent, Hockey Alberta and the player’s home community’s minor hockey association.
- November 18, 2026: AJHL Semi-Annual Meeting @ Devon, AB
- December 10, 2026 – January 1, 2027: CJHL Holiday Trade Freeze
- December 22-28, 2026: AJHL Holiday Trade Freeze
- January 9, 2027: Affiliation deadline for all AJHL teams
- January 10, 2027: CJHL Trade Deadline
- January 11, 2027: The AJHL Letter of Intent (LOI) is valid for the time period starting January 11 through the opening of the Hockey Canada Registration System (June 1).
- January 2027: AJHL All-Star Game @ Location TBD
- March 7, 2027: End of Regular Season
- March 11, 2026: Start of 2027 AJHL Playoffs – Under the new format, the league will move to a 1-to-10 overall playoff seeding. Teams seeded 7th through 10th will compete in opening round best-of-five Play-In Series (7 vs. 10 and 8 vs. 9), while the top six teams earn a first-round bye. Following the Play-In Series, the remaining eight teams will be reseeded 1-to-8. All playoff rounds from Round Two onward will be best-of-seven series, with teams reseeded based on regular-season points. The North and South division regular season champions will receive the top two seeds in Round Two.
