The first Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week in the 2026-27 season is Canucks forward Nicholas Anisimovicz! The 2006-born returning veteran led the AJHL on Opening Weekend with six points (2G, 4A) in two games.
Anisimovicz (Calgary, AB) was awarded as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game in a 7-6 win over the Drumheller Dragons at the Canucks Home Opener on September 19th. His five-point performance included two goals and three assists. Nicholas notched his fourth assist of the weekend on September 20th in a 5-3 road loss to the Drayton Valley Thunder.
Grande Prairie Storm newcomer Quentin Flores is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week. The 19-year-old defenceman recorded four points in back-to-back wins for the Storm to start the 2026-27 campaign.
Flores (Arvada, CO) had three assists in a 6-1 Home Opener against the Bonnyville Pontiacs on September 18th and added another assist on September 19th in a 5-2 victory. Flores and the Storm defence held the Pontiacs to just three goals against in the double header.
The Inter Pipeline AJHL Rookie of the Week is forward Dominic Seminoff with four points (3G, 1A) in his first two games for the Drumheller Dragons, including the team’s first goal of the season on Opening Night!
The 2008-born rookie scored a goal on September 18th in an eventual 4-3 overtime loss to the Camrose Kodiaks. Seminoff (Vancouver, BC) was recognized as the Bunge AJHL Player of the Game on September 19th for a three-point night (2G, 1A) in a 7-6 loss to the Calgary Canucks.
