The best of the Alberta Junior Hockey League is coming to the Border City. The Lloydminster Bobcats will host the Canalta Hotels AJHL All-Star Game on January 27th, 2027, turning the Cenovus Energy Hub into a celebration of Junior hockey, community spirit and fan-first experiences.
“The Lloydminster Bobcats organization is thrilled to host the return of the AJHL All-Star event,” said Bobcats General Manager Nigel Dube. “This is a prestigious event for our league and an incredible opportunity to showcase everything Lloydminster and the Border City have to offer. It will also give young hockey players and fans throughout our community the chance to see the AJHL’s top players up close, competing in our new state-of-the-art facility at the Cenovus Energy Hub. We’re proud to welcome players, families, fans, and representatives from communities across the AJHL to Lloydminster. Our community is excited to open its doors and make this an All-Star event to remember.”
The excitement will reach beyond the ice as minor hockey players will get the chance to skate alongside the All-Stars and enjoy an autograph session with representatives from all 12 AJHL teams. Fans can catch every moment through a multi-camera broadcast, with interactive interviews bringing them into the game as it unfolds.
Every ticket purchased will support the Team Peyton Trust Fund with all ticket sale proceeds going to the initiative.
“Bringing the Canalta Hotels AJHL All-Star Game to Lloydminster is more than just hosting a hockey game—it is a celebration of the talent, character and community spirit that defines the Alberta Junior Hockey League,“ said AJHL Commissioner Ryan Bartoshyk. “The Border City’s deep rooted passion for Junior A hockey, combined with the impressive atmosphere at the Cenovus Energy Hub, makes this the perfect stage to honour our players. We are committed to making this an experience where our athletes feel the true magnitude of being an All-Star and we are thrilled to showcase the best of the AJHL to the families, fans, and sponsors who make our League so special.”
