Bandits Forward Devin Phillips Commits to Holy Cross

BROOKS, AB – The Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are thrilled to announce 2001-born forward Devin Phillips has committed to attend and play for Holy Cross (NCAA Division I, Atlantic Hockey Association).

The Raleigh, NC product is currently in his 2nd season with the Bandits, scoring 2 points (1G, 1A) in 2 regular season games before the season was paused. Phillips tallied 6 points (2G, 4A) in 8 exhibition games during the extended 2020 Exhibition Season, and during the 2019-20 season, he posted 34 points (11G, 23A) in 52 games.

“Devin is an ultimate team player and drives our culture daily. His work ethic has been infectious since joining our program last year,” said Bandits Head Coach and GM, Ryan Papaioannou.

“He’s been a leader in all areas of our game while starting to drive the offence this season. It?s rare to come across players that demonstrate loyalty and resilience at the same level as Devin. We are excited to work with him for the remainder of this season and next.”

Phillips is an alumnus of the North Carolina Golden Bears and Carolina Junior Hurricanes.

College of the Holy Cross is located in Worcester, Massachusetts, where the Crusaders play under Head Coach David Berard and features Bandits alumni Conner Jean and Nick Hale. Current Bandit forward Jack Seymour is also committed to the Crusaders.

Phillips is the 16th player from the 2020-21 roster committed to an NCAA Division I school, joining:
