Spruce Grove — Jesse Pereira played the role of overtime hero, but it was goaltender Garret Hughson, who was the biggest difference-maker for the Brooks Bandits on Friday night.
Hughson is proving to be quite the deadly acquisition for the Bandits.The veteran goaltender came up huge, making 38 saves in a 3-2 overtime victory over the Spruce Grove Saints to give the Bandits a 1-0 series lead in the best-of-seven Alberta Junior Hockey League Gas Drive Cup.
