BANDITS WIN FOUR CENTENNIAL CUP TOURNAMENT AWARDS

PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, MB – Aiden Fink added three more awards to his resume, while Ethan Beyer won Top Defenceman as the 2023 Centennial Cup Awards were handed out on Thursday.

Fink (Calgary, AB) won the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, Top Forward and Top Scorer awards, while Ethan Beyer (Centennial, CO) was awarded the Top Defenceman honour.

Fink has 11 points (5G, 6A) through the four Preliminary Round games, with four straight multi-point games. He scored four points in the Bandits 6-1 win over the Terrebonne Cobras.

Earlier today, Fink was named the 2022-23 CJHL MVP also named the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s MVP and Top Forward Award honouree, the 18-year-old Calgary product paced the AJHL offensively with 97 points, on 41 goals and 56 assists, through 54 regular season contests.

The Penn State commit is currently slotted as the highest-listed CJHL player, 63rd overall, among North American Skaters, in the NHL Central Scouting final rankings, heading towards the upcoming 2023 NHL Draft, this June, in Nashville, Tenn.

Beyer led all Centennial Cup defenceman in scoring with eight points (3G, 5A) in four games. His three point performance in the Bandits 7-2 win over the Yarmouth Mariners on May 11th earned him the Player of the Game honour.

Beyer is committed to Arizona State University (NCAA Division I).

The Brooks Bandits will play in the National Semifinal on Saturday, May 20th at 3:30 pm (CST), against a to-be-determined opponent.
