The Fort McMurray Oil Barons were able to even their series with the Whitecourt Wolverines Tuesday night with a 2-1 victory on the road. Oil Barons head coach Gord Thibodeau said he thought games one and two were similar except for the outcome.
“It was a similar type game, I thought we worked hard much like yesterday,” said Thibodeau. “I don’t know if you want to call it luck or what, but we had a couple of breaks go our way. But we also made it a lot tougher than it frankly should’ve been. We had 15 scoring chances after two periods and didn’t bury many pucks, but like I said, when the game was on the line we found a way to bear down and hold it.”
