Brendan Boyle Commits to MacEwan University

OKOTOKS, AB – The Okotoks Oilers of the Alberta Junior Hockey League are pleased to announce that 2001-born forward Brendan Boyle (Lake Country, B.C.) has committed to attend and play for MacEwan University, beginning in the 2022-23 U Sports season.

“Brendan came in and was a great leader for us this year,” said Oilers head coach and general manager Tyler Deis. “His experience helped us get where we needed to be in playoffs, and for him to cap it off with a commitment to play at the U Sports level gives our staff a lot of pride in him, as well as what he’s accomplished and overcome.”

Located in Edmonton, the Griffins will enter their second full season of U Sports play after debuting this past year.

Boyle, 21, served as an alternate captain for the Oilers this past season and was one of the team’s key offensive threats, recording 28 points (13 goals, 15 assists) in 29 regular season games, and adding 7 more points (3 goals, 4 assists) in 12 playoff games.

Prior to joining Okotoks, he played 132 games over three seasons with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League.
