Brooks Bandits Advance to AJHL Enerflex Cup Finals

The Brooks Bandits have advanced to the AJHL Enerflex Cup Finals for the first time in franchise history. The Bandits posted a 3-0 win over the Olds Grizzlys on Tuesday night to sweep the best of seven series 4-0.

The Bandits opened the series with a 7-1 win on Friday and a 4-3 overtime victory on Saturday in Brooks, followed by a 4-2 win in Olds on Monday night. The Bandits hold a perfect 8-0 post-season record.

The Brooks Bandits claim the title of 2012 South Division Champions and advance to the 2012 AJHL Enerflex Cup League Final versus the North Division Champion. The best of seven North Division Final between the Spruce Grove Saints and Fort McMurray Oil Barons is currently tied 2-2. Game 5 will be played on Friday in Spruce Grove, Game Six on Sunday in Fort McMurray.

The Brooks Bandits won the Dave Duchak Trophy as the 2011-2012 AJHL Regular Season Champions with a record of 47-7-6 and 100 points. The Brooks Bandits set franchise records for Most Points in the Standings with 100 points, and Most Wins with 47. The Regular Season Title was also a franchise first for the Bandits.

By securing 1st place in the South Division, the Bandits guaranteed themselves a first round bye in the 2012 AJHL Enerflex Cup Playoffs. The Bandits then swept the Calgary Canucks (4-0) in the South Division Semi-Final, and the Olds Grizzlys (4-0) in the Division Final.
