CALGARY CANUCKS REPEAT AS INTER PIPELINE CUP AJHL CHAMPIONS

The Calgary Canucks have captured the 2025 Inter Pipeline Cup as Alberta Junior Hockey League Champions for a second consecutive season. The Canucks defeated the Grande Prairie Storm in game four of the league final to sweep the series on Wednesday night.

AJHL Commissioner Ryan Bartoshyk awarded Canucks Captain Bowden Singleton as the 2025 AJHL Playoff MVP in a post-game ceremony.  “Bowden is well deserving of the Playoff MVP award,” said Canucks GM and Head Coach Brad Moran. “He has elevated his play and led us on and off the ice all season and it comes as no surprise that he was selected. He should take great pride in his perseverance, determination and ability to rise up in big games.”

Calgary eliminated the Camrose Kodiaks 4-1 in the opening round of the 2025 Inter Pipeline Cup AJHL Playoffs before sweeping the Drumheller Dragons to win the South Division Final. This was the 14th league final appearance for the storied Calgary Canucks franchise.

The Calgary Canucks held a regular season record of 37-13-2-2 (W-L-OTL-SOL), tied at 78 points with the Whitecourt Wolverines in the Canalta Hotels AJHL Standings, ultimately capturing the league title based on the tie-breaking formula. The team built off their Championship season as winners of the 2024 Inter Pipeline Cup and led the league in goals (255) and goal differential (+116) as well as special teams with a league-best 23.1% on the powerplay and 89.4% on the penalty kill.

Forward Jack Plandowski was the winner of the 2024-25 AJHL Top Forward award as well as the AJHL Scoring Champion and the Leading Goal Scorer awards with 79 points (34G, 45A) in the regular season.  Nathan Maloney of the Calgary Canucks was voted as the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Outstanding Defenceman.

Founded in 1971, the Calgary Canucks are the oldest Alberta Junior Hockey League franchise. The Canucks once qualified for the playoffs in 34 consecutive seasons, a streak broken in 2006-07.  The team has 12 regular season titles, 11 AJHL championships, two Doyle Cup titles, and one Centennial Cup National Junior A Championship (1995).

The Canucks, led by General Manager and Head Coach Brad Moran since 2018, will host the 2025 Centennial Cup, presented by Tim Hortons from May 8th-18th in Calgary, AB.  The National Championship will be played in Calgary for the first time in the 54-year history of the tournament and the eighth time in Alberta since the tournament began in 1971. The Grande Prairie Storm have also earned a spot in the National Championship as the AJHL North Division Champions.
