Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week – Christopher Gerrie

The Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week is Christopher Gerrie of the Olds Grizzlys.  Gerrie scored 5 goals and 4 assists in 3 games for the Grizzlys during the week of October 6th – 12th, 2014.  He was named the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game on October 12th after recording 4 goals and 5 points in a victory over the Whitecourt Wolverines.  The Hat Trick was the first of his AJHL career.

Christopher Gerrie is on a 3 game point streak, and is currently tied for 1st overall in the AJHL Scoring Race with 12 goals, 10 assists and 22 points in 15 games played.  He is also tied for first with a league leading 6 powerplay goals. 

Gerrie is in his second season for the Grizzlys, and was named the CJHL and AJHL Rookie of the Year in 2013-2014.    The 18 year-old from Red Deer, Alberta has committed to Michigan Tech University.

The Olds Grizzlys are in second place amongst the Viterra AJHL South Division and have won three consecutive games to improve their record to 9-5-1 for 19 points.
