The Canalta Hotels Player of the Week is Arjun Atwal of the Sherwood Park Crusaders. Atwal leads the Crusaders in scoring after a 6-point week, which saw his team post three consecutive wins.
The 19 year-old centre picked up two Viterra AJHL Star of the Game awards and recorded 2 goals and 4 assists in three games played in the opening week of October. The first award came on October 2nd as the Crusaders blanked the Drayton Valley Thunder 8-0; Atwal scored 1 goal and 2 assists in the victory. The second followed shortly after on October 7th in a 5-2 win over the Kodiaks, and a rematch of the game played just a week prior at the AJHL Showcase. The Crusaders earned the win this time with Atwal scoring a goal and adding an assist on the game winning goal.
Arjun Atwal (Edmonton, AB) is in his third season with the Cru and sits third overall early in the AJHL scoring race with 15 points (7G, 8A). He has recorded a point in his last eight games, and nine of ten games played in the regular season.
Defenceman TJ Lloyd is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week for the week of October 1st – 7th, 2018. The Saints blueliner scored 2 goals and 2 assists in three victories for the Division leaders.

Spruce Grove began the week with a 4-3 win versus the Olds Grizzlys on October 2nd; Lloyd opened the scoring to record his third goal of the season. The Saints won another narrow victory with a 3-2 score against the Bonnyville Pontiacs on October 5th before wrapping up the week with a 6-1 runaway over the Calgary Canucks on October 7th. TJ scored 1 goal and 2 assists, including an assist on the game winner, to close out the week against the Canucks.
TJ Lloyd (Lloydminster, AB) is second in team scoring with 13 points in 10 games played, 5th overall in among AJHL scoring leaders, and leads all AJHL D-men with 4 goals.
The 18 year-old is committed to Bowling Green State University and is in his third AJHL season with the Saints.
