The Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week is Cody Laskosky of the Camrose Kodiaks, who led the League in scoring last week with 7 points (3G, 4A) in three games.   Laskosky has compiled a 12-game point streak and 10-game goal streak dating back to January 24th, 2020.

Laskosky (New Norway, AB) scored the only goal in a 5-1 loss to the division leading Oilers on Tuesday, February 11th.  The Kodiaks would put that loss behind them going into back to back games versus the Olds Grizzlys on the weekend, picking up two wins and scoring 13 goals.  Cody recorded a goal and 2 assists in Friday?s 6-2 win over the Grizz and repeated his performance in the 7-2 win on Saturday.  He recorded his fifth game winning goal of the season on Friday night and hit the 80-point mark of the season on Saturday.

The 20 year-old AJHL veteran leads the Kodiaks with 81 points (37G, 44A) and is tied for 8th in the AJHL Scoring Race.  Cody is committed to RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) of the NCAA for the 2020-2021 season.

Laskosky also opened the 2019-20 regular season and the month of February 2020 as the Canalta Hotels AJHL Player of the Week.

Camrose has secured 4th place in the Viterra AJHL South Division standings and will meet the Canmore Eagles in Round One of the 2020 Inter Pipeline AJHL Playoffs.

Lloydminster Bobcats goaltender Garrett Larsen is the Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Defensive Player of the Week.  The rookie goalie posted the highest save percentage (.965%) of all AJHL netminders last week as he recorded a win versus the division leading Crusaders and pushed the Oil Barons to a shootout.

Larson stopped 51 of 53 shots on goal from the offensively charged Sherwood Park Crusaders on Wednesday night and led his team to a 5-2 win.  On Saturday night, Larsen made 31 saves and allowed just one goal versus the Fort McMurray Oil Barons, but eventually fell 2-1 in the shootout.  The 18 year-old earned the Viterra Star of the Game award in both games and has received the honour in four of his last five starts.

The Bobcats have three regular season games remaining in the 2019-2020 campaign and will finish last in the Viterra AJHL North Division.
