The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are pleased to announce that 20 year old captain Mike Marianchuk (Innisfail, AB) has committed to attend and play for the Red Deer College Kings in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) for the upcoming 2013-2014 season.
Mike completed his four year career as the captain of the Oil Barons this year. Over his time in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, he played in 243 games while accumulating 46 goals and 70 assists. His strong leadership skills on and off the ice made him a very important part of the Oil Barons’ success. He was someone who was a valuable leader and someone the coaching staff counted on to set a good example for all his teammates to follow. Mike was a player who was very versatile and was able to play in all situations.
The Oil Barons’ organization would like to congratulate Mike and his family and wish him all the best in his future endeavours both academically and athletically.
