Contract Position (August 12th, 2019 ? May 19th, 2020)

 

The Digital Media Coordinator will serve as a night-time producer and publisher of player and fan-driven videos across AJHL social media channels. The tasks assigned to this role are central to the Alberta Junior Hockey League?s goal to serve our 15 clubs nightly.

This newly created position will provide digital media and video services to the Alberta Junior Hockey League as it executes new and exciting projects in the 2019-2020 season.  This individual will be key to developing the digital presence of the AJHL, and providing exposure for our athletes, teams and the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

Qualifications

  • Video editing experience or media education
  • Experience in delivering high quality, consistent content
  • Strong understanding of digital landscape and social media platforms (YouTube, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and Adobe After Effects
  • Ability to modify and edit motion graphics
  • Experience using content management systems and website administration
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Eager approach to developing creative ideas that engage fans
  • Ability and strong desire to work independently
  • Passion for the game of hockey and the sport industry
  • Familiarity with the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) is an asset
  • Successful candidate may not be employed with an AJHL team during the 2019-2020 season
  • Availability and flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed

Job Description

  • Creation of nightly game highlight packages
  • Creation of regularly scheduled player / team video highlight packages for social media channels
  • Responsible for video editing and motion graphics under tight deadlines
  • Develop a consistent style of video editing and league graphics
  • Collaborate on storylines and the visual elements that support them
  • Assist in live productions of league events and major announcements
  • Maintain and expand archived video and fulfill footage requests
  • Provide analytics reports on video content
  • Present new processes and introduce new tools the AJHL should use to publish and distribute content
  • Act as a resource for AJHL teams to improve video production, content creation, digital strategies
